Before and After

When we first moved in our house was a GIANT mess; granted it wasn't as bad as some others we saw, but it needed a lot of help.
Stuff like this drove me crazy:

At first I thought "those people must have been drunk when they painted those stripes", then I realized... It's PANELING. Two of the three bedrooms had one wall of paneling. What's worse is that they covered tacky paneling with tacky wallpaper! Ugh. Here is how the bedroom looked after paint:

MUCH better. I still haven't taken any pictures with the furniture yet, but I wanted to get some stuff on the walls before I took the "finished" pictures.

Now let's get to my favorite reveal, the kitchen. When we first moved in it looked like this:

Ugly ugly high gloss eggplant paint with bare unfinished wood. What is wrong with people?! How did this EVER look good?! At first I thought the floor was grey tile with black grout, come to find out it's a nice shade of beige under all that filth.
And now this is what it looks like (minus the drop cloths of course):

Voila!
And that is just changing the paint color, imagine how nice it looks with furniture and cats in it! :) This weekend we are going to try and tackle painting the family room... all 500 sq feet of it (eeeek!). We are starting to cross a few things off our million item list, wish us luck!
